Catching up on New Teams:
Welcome to Reganino whose more common barn name- Reggie, is being leased by Caitlin MaCauley who will start riding him in the pre-child hunter division this coming year. A handsome chestnut hanovarian gelding, he will be a great asset to our teaching staff and show team.
Lottie has a new rider- congrats to the Gigi Phillips who is celebrating her 10th birthday with a great pony to move up to the short stirrup division. Davenport was sad to give her up but knew it was time; Davenport is on to bigger things and I’m sure is very happy to keep an eye out on her old mount and give Gigi pointers… namely- how to keep her clean!
Marshmallow also has a new rider; Emerson DeCurtins. Emerson was unaware that her Dad was working on arranging to half lease him, and so it was a big surprise to find that she is now Marshmallow’s new rider! Emerson and Marshie will be doing the cross rail division.
Lacey and Kay Benson have become a new team- they will be competing in the short stirrup division.
SCEC Horse Show- Double Points
The SCEC horse show that we were hosting at Cedarhill on behalf of Carolina Country Acres (they closed and couldn’t hold it) was canceled due to the wet conditions. We are offering DOUBLE points for our November SCEC horse instead.
The walker is back in action!!!
We are very excited to have the new flooring. Horses are built to move and the walker has been a huge asset to our farm helping with joint stability, increased circulation, and the overall fitness of our animals. Horses and ponies are worked for a minimum o0 minutes going in both directions at a forward walk and slow collected trot. This work targets back and gluts for increased power and push in the show ring.
We are returning all the existing horses to the schedule, and highly recommend it or all the others. We have seen/felt the benefits in the horses and ponies performance.
Horses on full care – walker is $100/month
Recommended 5 days a week – $85/week
Once a week is $25, days 2-4 are prorated
Please let me know if you would like to see your animal/athlete 🙂 added to the list.
